Battle of the Birdfeeder

Exhibit A: The bird feeder...being thoroughly enjoyed by a cute kitty in the window-

Exhibit B: A stupid squirrel with malicious  intentions (you can see it in his eyes)-

Exhibit C: Ugh...seriously?

Exhibit D: A sad, empty feeder with all the seeds strewn carelessly about in a matter of moments. Can you hear the birdies crying?

The battle has begun. My weapon of choice? A squirt gun... nope. How about some crazy 'squirrel proof' plastic disc contraption... negative. Armed guards... hmmmm. No, I went with a different approach:

If you google 'slinky', you will find videos of folks rigging their feeders with this childhood favorite to keep the naughty squirrels at bay...and it is quite delightful. 

 

So, I got the gear:

Secured the high tech birdseed protection device:

And now we wait....

It's been 1 day since the 'installation' and I'm keeping watch with a hopeful heart that my seeds will be kept safe...and just for the birdies!
