The Red Door: Part 2

So my crafty lady friends T and J are putting together another session of 'The Red Door' Boutique this spring!

The maiden voyage this past fall was a huge success (see post for a look back) and they have once again gathered a bevy of talented crafters to sell their wears!

Stay tuned for more details to come...but I just wanted to get you excited for some amazing handcrafted delights!

Toddler Talk: What's under there?

My lovely co-teacher 'C' created a bunch of really fun animal themed group time cards awhile back. I just need to share them...because they are awesome and also encompass several characteristics universally loved by toddlers. Animals, texture, something to rip apart and also hidden surprises! What could be better?

We mainly use them for large group discussions and inquiry but I think it would certainly be fun to create some of your own! Put them in a basket in your play space at home and let the cognitive exploration begin:

You can find some of these prints at craft stores in the felt area...also others in the fabric zone. Note that each fabric piece is secured to the laminated photo with a strip of sticky Velcro- so they can tear off the fabric to reveal the animal hidden underneath (if they so desire...which you know they will).

Film Fest 2014: Hope CC & Team Starsheep

This past weekend was my church's annual Film Festival....gather a team together, draw a genre, use the required prop (any animal) and line of dialogue (Worship.Teaching.Friends). 37 teams entered and had 2 weeks to write, film and edit their films...and they were nothing short of AMAZING!

I love my crew (Team Starsheep, woot)! Always so creative, not afraid to make a fool of themselves when the script calls for such things, sacrificing time and talent to turn out a delightful masterpiece year after year.

This year, we drew 'Comedy'...a challenge really...because it is so broad! The possibilities are endless. So where did we go? Dudes in spandex obviously. Dudes in hideous spandex doing yoga. Enough said.

Here is our movie poster and a few pics from the awards night- we took home 'Best Costume' and 'Audience Favorite'....what an honor:

What a magical night! And in case you have a little extra time on your hands, here's the link to a bunch of the films created this year- Film Fest 2014

Watch them all...you will not be sorry:)

Sequins & Sofas: 5 Things

Some more lovely things:

1. Trader Joes Inner Peas: These are very tasty. Crunchy. Cute name. I am certain that you will like them if you are one who likes vegetables....and maybe even if you don't.

2. Clinique Chubby Stick (Mega Melon): I got this as a sample with a Clinique Bonus and really like it. I am not one who ever wears lipstick. So when I need just a little pop of color for special occasions, this fits the bill. It's not 'lipstick-y', it's moisturizing and a nice soft pink. Love.

3. The Big Bang Theory: Another TV series that I cannot get enough of. A crew of nerdy dudes and a pretty lady make for some very funny viewing.

'Soft kitty, warm kitty. Little ball of fur'....

4. Ice Breakers Duos (Raspberry): I always have these in my purse. Sometimes you just need a little breath refresher, sometimes you need a burst of fruity candy....it is both.

5. H&M Basics: A few months ago, I was shopping around for nothing really....and I stumbled upon the Basics section of H&M. Maybe this magical place is not ground breaking news to you, but I didn't know I needed these until I had them. Tank tops for tall girls, comfy cotton skirts of varying lengths, soft v-neck/scoop tshirts...always available. And cheap. What more could a girl ask for.
